Is Cork/Corking a good option?
A cork that is frequently used for corking wine bottles is somehow no more a good option for most of wine bottles or as a bottle stopper because of its leaking defects, thus an alternative bottle stopper is being used for wine content. However, cork is also used on various functions, like flooring and fillings of a baseball bat.

I know most of us are familiar with the wine closure which is the cork. Cork is frequently being used then as a suitable bottle stopper but nowadays it is no longer in frequent usage because of its highly inconsistent nature, that is it has unavoidable and inevitable natural flaw and cracks appearing when it is compress in the mouth of the bottle. Actually, Studies during 2005 shows that corks have leakage of 45 %, thus making the content of the bottle not really sealed enough and the contents flow out. This is really disappointing truth for those who wanted to cork their wine bottles or those who are corking their wine bottles, especially those who does not yet knew this information about corks as a bottle stopper or bottle closure.
But those who manufacture wine brands knew of course this that is why of their wine bottles where in plastic or metal cap plastic stoppers and screwcaps or other alternative closures nowadays. However, some alternative closure or bottle stoppers like screw caps or screwtops does not allow oxygen to seep into the bottle which is detrimental to wine’s taste and quality. But a cork allows oxygen, thus it increases wine’s taste and quality as long the wine bottle is being cork. Thus a cork or natural cork stopper is qualified or rather best bottle stopper for red wine or wines that are intended to increase the taste and quality or for aging purpose. In the end the cork is still the best bottle stopper for wines even though it has a disadvantage of higher leakage of the content, but that percentage of leakage is the advantage anyway to increase the quality of the wines while in bottle as if they are still on the barrel. Cork’s oxygen permeability is both the advantage and disadvantage of corking or using cork as a bottle stopper or bottle closures for wine content, or the essence of wine corking.
Cork is also used to fill or stuff in a baseball bat or some most preferred to use a cork bat because corking bat of baseball game gave the bat holder the ease and flexibility of managing their bats and even manage to hit the ball by using a cork bat than a non cork bat. For a cork bat is very light and easy to move and because of its lightness, a bat holder could increase some speed when hitting the ball which eventually could hit a distance away and make for a homerun for the team. Corking a bat seems to be very good and advantageous to baseball players, is not it?
A cork is also being used for floorings as an alternative wood because it is more resilient and would not hurt you anyway, if happen you fall onto cork flooring and it would not even infect you because it is hypoallergenic, insect resistant or no any insect or termite could house in it, and also a mold and mildew resistant. The only advantageous of using cork flooring is its load capacity that is it can never be used for general flooring on any load of occupancy.
